Also known as the Australian honeysuckle, the Banksia (pronounced bank·si·a) is regarded as Australia's national flower. They represent renewal and new beginnings through their remarkable ability to regenerate and rise from the ashes after fires. In their natural habitat, they grow as trees or hardy shrubs in warm climates and are highly favored by birds and pollinators due to their sweet nectar.
